Hundreds of people got into the spirit of Christmas for the Brilliant Brighton Christmas lights

Hundreds of people got into the spirit of Christmas for the Brilliant Brighton Christmas lights on East Street  earlier this month, in association with Capital Brighton and Rockinghorse, and sponsored by Legal & General. The free festive party was presented by Dave and Miranda from Capital Brighton’s Breakfast Show and saw some of the city’s best talent perform.

The all-important job of counting down and switching on the lights went to inspiring 15-year-old fundraiser Jake Heal from Hove (pictured above). Despite having the rare genetic Prader-Willi Syndrome, Jake raised £4,000 for Rockinghorse earlier this year at our iDrop Abseil from the British Airways i360 tower on Brighton seafront.

He was joined by CBeebies TV presenter and Rockinghorse Trustee, Sid Sloane (pictured above), and the big man himself – Father Christmas (pictured below). The event also featured a charity raffle to help us raise funds with a host of wonderful prizes donated by local shops and businesses.
