Carr’s Flour Announce Brighton’s Real Patisserie as winner of the Carr’s Flour Baguette Category

Carr’s Flour are pleased to share that Real Patisserie’s Artisan Sourdough Baguette has been voted the best baguette in the UK by a panel of expert judges at the Tiptree World Bread Awards.

As sponsors of the Carr’s Flour Baguette Category, Simon Cheek, representing Carr’s’ Maldon Mill, was in attendance to present the prize at the awards, which took place in Central London this week.

The World Bread Awards are a unique set of awards which not only celebrate the skill of bread-making at its most diverse and inspiring, but also seek to encourage and foster the art of baking both now and for the future generation.

East Sussex based Real Patisserie’s Justin Gourlay said “It means a lot to win such an auspicious prize with a great quality product. We’re incredibly proud to be voted amongst the very best in the baking industry, in a category amongst so many of our highly-regarded peers.”

Simon Cheek of Carr’s Maldon Mill said “We’re incredibly proud to see that Real Patisserie are the winners of the Flour Baguette category. There’s never been a more exciting time to be in the baking industry – the standard in this category this year was incredibly high.”

Carr’s are extremely proud to provide a range of flours to bakers, with 46 employees working at the Maldon Mill site to ensure the flour from the mill reaches the high standards of their artisan and commercial clients.
